Lodge of Perfect Unanimity
No. 150
Date of Warrant:1786
Did you know which is the oldest surviving lodge in the District of Madras? The Lodge of Perfect Unanimity No. 150EC was consecrated on the 7th of October in 1786 (Yes, it is older than the District Grand Lodge of Madras!), formed as the first lodge after the union of the Provincial Grand Committee of Athole Lodge No. 152 and the Regular Provincial Lodge then operating at Madras, which is beautifully depicted in their coat of arms. Fun fact: this union of Athole & Regular masons precedes the union of the then rival Grand Lodges in England which resulted in the formation of the United Grand Lodge of England! Having completed 235 years in 2021, the Lodge & its brethren have a rich history and legacy to carry forward!⠀
