The Lodge of Southern Brotherhood, No.3311 (Bangalore)

Date of Warrant: June 11, 1908

In the summer of 1908, many of the European freemasons employed in Civil and/or Military services in Bangalore & Mysore state had a desire to form a lodge in Bangalore. Thus, was born the Lodge of Southern Brotherhood No. 3311. Interestingly, owing to its founding members being from Military service, during the World War its membership grew rapidly, and eventually declined rapidly once the war was over, as many of its members were transferred to their home establishments. Ever since then, as the lodge progressed into the new era in Independent India, it has been growing steadily, making good men better.
